WORKSHOP 1209 Leather Design
Traditional Techniques. Contemporary Design. Insightful Training.
Hello! I'm Dan Myles and WORKSHOP 1209 Leather Design is my small-scale production and training workshop. For over 30 years I have been involved in leather craft. After formal training at the Canberra School of Art with Penny Amberg, I trained and worked with various craftsmen across Australia including Bruce Erskine of Awl Leather in Bellingen, Bob Feast of Hawksbury leather in Sydney.
WORKSHOP 1209 was launched 5 years ago in Geelong, Australia. The studio has been my base for designing and crafting unique leather art & accessories. Our mission is to revive some of the ancient traditions and techniques for leather work through both creating unique pieces and teaching fellow craftsmen.
WORKSHOP 1209 has designed a variety of workshops and courses for teaching basic skills to newcomers and enhancing the work of more experienced artisans.
We love our work, we love our customers, and we love sharing our skills - take a look around - I'm sure there is a workshop designed just for you!
